House Fives - Round 1
Last Friday, three Talbot’s boys and a day
boy took part in the St Peter’s house fives team. Karan Gupta, the captain, Dom
Brett and Michael Holroyd were
the Talbot’s contingent, with Jay-Jay
Saint the day boy. It is Karan’s last year of captaincy, after several
previous campaigns, and he is looking to go out with a bang this year. The boys
faced a Paulo-Pontine side strewn with rank amateurs, whom the Talbot’s boys
made light work of. The ‘B’ side of Dom and Jay-Jay won both of their games
without conceding a point, and the ‘A’ side of Karan and Michael showed similar
dominance, only conceding two points, with Karan looking particularly dangerous
for future rounds. The boys will look ahead to the later rounds with confidence
if they are to play with the kind of quality they showed in this round.
