Friday Celebration 12/10/18

Lots has happened this week, especially in the field of music. There has been a choir trip and lots of hard practice for house singing.  This included our first rehearsal in the great hall with Mr Sanders watching. The musical highlight was the lunchtime concert where the part song performed and included Ben, James, Tizian and Arron's first ever public singing performance at school. Ben also sang a great piece from 'The Messiah' and Leo matched Arron with a wonderful first upper school singing performance.

Richard was one of the most successful players in the 1st team table tennis game this week. Nathan and Divine played well for the U16 basketball side. Last weekend Seb also raced at the national school ski championships.

Edwin also went to his LNAT test in Cambridge - inspirational stuff.

In Sports this Weekend

In the golf 1st team is M.

In rugby, Simon is our lone 5th team hero this week.  Will and Henry are in the U16a with Henry in as a starter and Will continuing as VC.  Divine is in the U16B.  In the U15s, Alex returns to action in the A’s, and Orlando and Roy go in the D team.  In the U14s Max is in the A’s, Leo in the Cs and Bertie maintains his role as our MVP in the U14E.

Friday Night Celebration 30/09/16

We've had another great week in the house, with loads to celebrate, but special mention this week goes to Jason, Charles, Curtis, Dan, Arthur and Joseph for their incredible resilience. Each of these boys has faced difficult challenges this week, and each of them has come out of it stronger.

Speaking of challenges, we have several boys debuting in rugby matches for the school this week, so good luck to Niklas and Luca in the under 16C team, Aaron in the under 15 Ds and Joseph in the under 14 Es.

Other boys also playing are Kighty and Seward in the 1st XV, Sporton in the 4th and Szeto, John, Leo and Frank in the 5ths. Dan S is playing in the Under 16 C's. Andrew is playing in the 15A's, Reidy in the 15Bs, Brady in 15Cs and, Ruslan and Alikhan are in the 15D team. Henry will be representing the under 14 B's and I'm sure there will be many boys out supporting them.

In the Merit competition this week, King of Merits was Tizian with an incredible 14 merits(!) closely followed by Jason with 11 and Charles with 8.

Friday Celebration 15/01/16

Embedded image permalink

Apologies for missing last week's entry but below are the Friday Celebration prizes for this week. They were followed up by some much enjoyed burgers and the usual social time for the whole house, we love Fridays!

we started off celebrating Harun's amazing contributions to the basketball matches this term where he scored a large percentage of the team's points and was joined in the game by teepee and Fuga on Thursday. Benno and Dom also scored for the match. It was our turn to serve at chapel tonight and Ben.K and Charlie made terrific ushers whilst Jonas and Alex.S kept up the tradition of us definitely having the best readers! This week Dan.R and Tiz also entered the fourth form table tennis competition. Dan featured very well but was pipped by by Tizian who won it! Ben. W played wonderfully in the Music Scholars' concert on Thursday, watched by a number of visiting prep school heads of music, pressure!

In teams this week we have:
Hockey: U14D: Danny and Tizian, U14A: Dan, 1st Team: Ben.K, Crows and Gabriel
Football: U15B: Curtis and Edwin, U15A Alvin and Stephen, who scored both goals in last week's 2-2 draw. In the seniors Alex.C and Hodges will run out for the 4ths with Fuga, John and Nico representing the first team.

It was good to see a rising merit count this week from the following lads:

1: Ben.W, Jonas, George, Harun, Charlie, Benno
2: Lennart, Ben.K, Alex.S
3: Tizian, Brady, Charles
4: Dan.S
and king of merits with 6 was Alvin

This, alongside his character this week and getting a crucial goal last weekend made him man of the week.

Adrian was Top Bloke for stepping up and doing a great job in house badminton, where we came 4th.
