Bowling Trip
Last Thursday (November 13) the fourths and removes when on a bowling
trip. After getting shoes fitted and repeatedly bragging about past
victories, we got underway. For the most of us, the quality of the
bowling started out pretty poor. But after our 3rd or 4th
try, strikes and spares were began to be bowled. The overall winner
of the first round (by a considerable margin) was Henry, who
capitalised on his previous experience, scoring just short of 100 points. We
then stopped for a well-earned dinner break, consisting of burgers, scampi or
nuggets with a side of chips.
After this short break in the action we got underway with round 2. With
confidence on our side, our scores began to increase. At the top of the board
margins narrowed and there were frequent position changes. Several places
were fought down to the very last bowl with an increasingly tense atmosphere.
But yet again, Henry was the overall winner with a very respectable score of
over 120!
On behalf of all the boys in the house, I'd like to thank Mr Gracie for
taking us and organising the trip, and Mr and Mrs Trigger's excellent advice.
