Friday Night Celebration 17/06/16

Culinary Competitors
This week has been a fairly quiet week in Talbots with boys leaving for their much deserved summer break. With exams over for many we've been celebrating with and Ice cream date with the fifth form, and slightly  more relaxed prep times to allow for a little bit of football viewing for the Euros.

The week started out with an inter-house a culinary competition and our very own Duncan competing admirably. Unfortunately we didn't win, but we're sure his efforts tasted amazing none the less.

This week the House Options chose Szeto for the top bloke award because  he took an epic fall on the running machine on house gym night, but still got back up to finish his run.

Man of the week goes to Andrew who despite being in the house with us for such a short time, not only volunteered to help with house tours for prospective parents this week, but was so friendly and engaging that Mr Gracie struggled to get the parents attention when it was time to leave!

King of merits was sadly missing from our celebrations as he was at a university open day, but congratulations anyway to Nihat.

Room of the week is Cassell - well done to Stephen and Charles R for a great effort.

Friday Celebration 10/6/16

With the recent half term and exams this week it has seemed very quiet in the house. However, there is still plenty to celebrate from the week before the holiday and since then too.

The first thing is clearly the end of exams for AS boys and the fourth and remove formers!

Duncan received two sets of colours for Athletics and Cross country which is quite an achievement.
Harun, Benno and Lennart were all awarded distinctions in their LAMDA exams which is another amazing achievement.
This is a double coup for Lennart who was also part of the J15 rowing crew that took silver in the national schools regatta in half term.

The room of the week this week goes to Harun and Hodges who has also just celebrated his 18th birthday!

In merits the following have been awarded since our last celebration. Things have obviously gone quiet with everyone on exam leave!

1: Dan.R, Ben.W, Lennart, Duncan
2: Brady - King of Merits

In teams this weekend are the following:
Cricket: U14A:Dan.R, U14C: Wils  4th: Dom and Mason, 2nd Alex

Man of the week this week for his double colours and taking tours and volunteering to be the house representative in the cooking competition was Duncan.

The other significant event of this week has been the appointing of the new house options team. Appointed as options are Alex.S, Simon and Harun
Alikhan is deputy ehad of house
Duncan is our new head of house.

We know they will do a great job and also want to say an enormous thank you to our current team who have served the house so excellently this year!
