Live Below The Line
This week Leon has been living below the line for charity along with Mr Gracie. The premise is that you live off just £1 every day for all your food and drink for 5 days. So for two people that's £10 for the whole of Monday-Friday.
The experience didn't start well with some bland toast and an even more bland small bowl of rice with a couple of kidney beans on Monday for breakfast and lunch respectively. However, some genius shopping at Aldi has brought us spaghetti with sauce and biscuits for snacks. Breakfast now includes some very low quality spaghetti hoops and beans and there is one treat evening with the world's cheapest pizza!!
In all seriousness, as a charity drive the whole point is to raise money for charities that support those for who living below the poverty line is their life. We have also found it an amazing experience in opening up our eyes to how much we take for granted with our food and how tough life would be to be so constricted by finance.
The Bedford school team is raising money for UNICEF and if you would like to sponsor them you can at the link below:

4ths Meal Out
On Thursday, the 4th form went out for dinner with the Gracie's to the Sizzling Wok in Bedford. The ability to make your own dish which is cooked in front of you and eat as much as you like mean that this is always a favourite of Talbot's men and an essential part of a Bedford School boarer's education. It was great to catch up after the holidays and show off some chuffing skills. A few errors were made with Dan and Mrs Gravcie in particular adding too much spice to their food a few times!
Hopefully it's the start of a great summer term for us all!!!
