Tea Club - Feb 26th

This week's tea club owes its most exotic teas to Benno who brought a selection back from Germany after half term. The tea was lovely and, as ever with the men of Talbot's, conversation was rich and varied. It's not often you move from Chinese historical culture to underground Russian sci-if to Michaelangelo's David to South Park in half an hour! It's always fun to have some light reviews of the teas which are below:

Benno - Vanilla and Cream
Sweet but not actually sweet and quite smooth. Good with milk.

Mr G- Red Earth
Strong flavour, fruity enough but the rooibos hints make very drinkable

Dan - Earl Grey
Classic. Original. Marvellous!

Sasha K - Sweet Chai
Very good

Sasha P - Orientlische Gewurtztee
Splendid!

Assan - Orientlische Gewurtztee
An adequate view of genuine orientalist Turkish tea from a German perspective

Assan also bought some sweetened condensed milk from Kazakhstan which was really enjoyed on cake, though it took some effort to stop the Sashas just eating it by the spoon!

Ice Hockey Trip

On Saturday we had our first trip to see the MK Lightning ice hockey side play. It was fast and physical and being able to stand right next to the Perspex was a bonus. The game against top of the table Telford Tigers was a cracker and included a stunning goal for MK and a couple if fights! Skating after the match was also included so all in all it was a quality night out!

Tea Club

Fuelled by our 5th form tea social a while back we have launched the Talbots Tea Club on Thursday nights after prep. The boys are bringing a wide selection of teas that they have sourced and enjoy themselves to share with their friends and review together.

This weeks Tea Club involved cherry cake and chocolate biscuits, but obviously also some interesting teas. It was awesome to see how many guys have interesting teas and really enjoy drinking them. We look forward tos eeing what people can find over half term for the enxt assembly of tea club when we come back!

Here are some of the reviews:

 Lapsang Souchong:
"A Smokey and light tea. It really calms you down and relaxes you" - Charlie

"My tea was the Chinese green tea. It was a nice refreshing calming tea. Tasted amazing". - Sasha.P

Camomile
"Very nice to drink and calming before bed" - Alex.G
"It makes me feel ready for bed!" - Kritt

Kandi
"a lot darker than expected but with a really sweet taste" - Mrs G

Chinese Papaya
"Sweet and easy to drink, lovely whilst chatting to everyone" - Talboss

The first Tea Club in full swing

After tea, Michael entertained everyone with a song he is going to perform in a local open mic night on Monday which was very impressive!

Even the duck enjoyed it!

We are on Instagram!

As a lot of the boys now use Instagram rather than twitter, we've decided to join them. You can find us under @Talbotshouse (it's the same as our twitter handle), but don't worry, we'll still be on twitter too.

If you haven't already found us on youTube, you can subscribe by clicking on the link below.

Talbot's In the Snow

It's finally snowed a proper amount in Bedford!!!

After sports hall last night, the boys accidentally walked into a battle raging outside Burnaby house. Fortunately the natural Talbot's together spirit saw us form a strong unit to repel the invading hoarders and send them packing back to Burnaby. The blurriness of the picture below testifies to the intensity of the battle (and Mr Gracie's cold hands)!

This morning we then had the pleasure of waking up to see our beautiful house surrounded in an unspoilt white cover as shown in the pictures below. Of course, this won't last long with everyone's enthusiasm for putting the snow to good use but it's a great way to start a winter's day.

The only bad thing about the snow is that Mr Gracie's dream of building a house igloo is still on hold as  there isn't enough yet!

A month in the life...
