Finals Night

The four semi-finalists of this terms House Table Tennis and Pool Competitions kicked off with Aaron vs James and the Michael vs Jack.

The two matches were very toughly fought however James won his match and Jack won his by just two points.
The Final then was between James and Jack, the leaders swapping regularly due to the intensity of the match.

In the end James pulled away with 2-0 in games win to lift the title and become house champion.

The pool kicked off with Dom B vs Dom K. It was a close game, Dom  B potting four balls from the break. However, Dom K came back to win .

The next game was between Aaron and James however this games was dominated by James.

So the finals were between Dom K  and James

The first game was close,  James being beaten on the black, however the second game was utter domination by Dom K right up until the end when James  came back but unfortunately was still beaten by Dom K, meaning Dom K was the overall winner.

Christmas decorations

If you're joining us for the Christmas play this afternoon you can look forward to some delicious minced pies that baking club have prepared for us and a glass of mulled wine.

You will also notice that the boys have made a great effort in decorating the barn to bring Christmas spirit to the house. They've also been decorating their rooms and with that in mind, we've had a little competition running.

Here are some of my favourite entries:

I'm a big fan of how organised Rio is with his post it's anyway, but his cute row of Christmas themed post it's put a real smile on my face.

His room mate Jack also wanted to include himself in the decorations with his fantastic Christmas jumper and an actually stuffed stocking!

Renwick made a great effort with this Christmas light waterfall of glitter

Although they almost got disqualified for attempting to sabotage room 14 by stealing decorations

But finally, here are the results:

In third place, Hepworth with their full size Christmas tree!

In second place, room 14 with their cute reindeer, flashing Santa's and DIY mini tree

But first place, for sheer amount of decorations, goes to...

Congratulations Renwick boys.

Here is your prize:

Friday Celebration 29/11/13

Another epic week in the house has come to an end and there is much to celebrate as ever!

On the domestic front, it was exciting to see boys arriving back from Exeat with Christmas decorations for their rooms. Mrs Gracie went around them all to see how they were getting on and was so impressed by the odour (Nice not nasty) in Fitt that they were awarded an impromptu prize. Well done Assan and Rufus. the cleanest room went to Henderson, home of Charlie, Dom.K, Alex and Jonny. We also put up the decorations in the barn on Friday, it is certainly colourful, but the effect of mini Talbots getting involved needed some repair over the weekend!

On the sporting front, we were duped into thinking Tom had received confirmation of his place in the England U16 Hockey training squad, but we are still waiting. There were a good number of boys in teams again, with the 5th team again having our biggest representation; Dylan, Assan, James.S and Philip doing us proud. Nihat and Duncan's promotions to the under 15C team to join Bob left them a close second.

The biggest news on the sporting front was that the march to the senior Fives title is finally complete and

We also had the house trip to grease this week and celebrated how good Rio, Ilya and Dylan were in it. Mr G was also mentioned.

This week's house Merit competition saw the title finally returned to its spiritual home - Bob's desk (4 merits) with Assan and Sergey in second place on 3 and Sasha, Kritt and Rio all on 2.

The top bloke award went to Adrian.H for his all around smiley presence in the house and lightening of the atmosphere.

Man of the week went to the man who took another member of the house to the bank to help them get a statement and baked matron a birthday cake as well as being a top head of house. That man is Dom.B!

House Trip To Grease

On Thursday 28th, the whole house went to the school theater to watch the Grease production.

Rio, Dylan and Ilya were all involved as chorus, and did the house proud with some fantastic singing and lively dancing to match. However, the most memorable moment for the house was undoubtedly the surprise appearance of Mr Gracie, who sung a song by himself, as a guardian angel type figure. Needless to say, as Mr Gracie emerged from behind the curtain clad in white and sparkles, the house were quite shocked.

By all accounts, the play was very enjoyable, and the men of Talbots gave a strong performance.
