Boys Take Gym Records

Congratulations to the following Talbot's boys who achieved some impressive things in the school gym at the end of term.

Ben Nesseler (30 Coward Press) and John Holroyd (8 Muscle Ups) won the final two 'Exercise of the Week' competitions at the end of last term. John's was particularly impressive given that the muscle up is seen as one of the hardest of bodyweight exercises by the boys and he is a remove former. Few boys can do one of them, let alone eight, and he even beat Mr Gracie into second place! Ben won his comfortably, boding well for next hockey season!

Arguably more impressive was Dom Brett's breaking of the coveted school Back Squat record. He squatted 152.5kg to beat the previous best of 150kg held by Joe Bonnaserra. Dom has tried for this record for a long time and was so excited he had started gearing up to attempt the front squat record immediately after before the gym had to be closed.

Minor Sports Colours

Minor Colours WrapCongratulations to Sergey Gerasimov (Swimming) and Mikhail Glik (Rowing) who have been awarded minor sports colours.

Sergey been an ever present member of the squad this year and was named by our very own outgoing captain, Ilyas Orazalin, as captain for the upcoming season.

Mik has forced his way into the first eight this year by virtue of his work ethic and determination. This was particularly demonstrated as he overcame ill-timed (excuse the pun) sickness to get back into the squad for the Henley regatta.
